EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Ayawaso Physically Challenged Sports Foundation (APCSF) is a pioneering non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with physical disabilities through sports. Established in 2018 by Emmanuel Akpabli, APCSF aims to mobilize and support persons living with disabilities-offering them an alternative to street begging by engaging them in structured sports activities.
Operating in the Ayawaso Municipal and across Ghana, APCSF provides a wide range of adaptive sports opportunities for individuals with Cerebral Palsy (CP), Amputees, Dwarfs, and all forms of wheelchair users. These activities include CP Football, CP Swimming, CP Bowling, CP Cycling, Amputee Football, Para Boxing, and various Dwarf Games, among others. Through these initiatives, the foundation promotes inclusivity, physical well-being, and competitive excellence.
As the first Club under the Foundation to pioneer Cerebral Palsy Football in Ghana, APCSF adheres to international standards set by the International Federation of CP Football (IFCPF), ensuring that athletes have access to both recreational and elite-level competitions. Additionally, the foundation raises funds to establish sports projects and facilities for persons with disabilities across different communities, enhancing accessibility and long-term participation in sports.
With a mission to transform lives through adaptive sports, APCSF continues to champion the rights, welfare, and development of physically challenged individuals-proving that disability is not inability.
The Ayawaso Physically Challenged sports Foundation basically arranges competitive events in the country and beyond and offers training and seminars for its Athletes. The Foundation engages in international competitions and programs which comes into close tandem with its aims and objectives. It again establishes an international coordination between its Athletes and foreign ones to be able to fraternise and build the self confidence needed as a physically challenged person.
The Foundation seeks to minimize the stress, pain and stigma that persons living with physical disability go through. It is the fervent objective that in the next 5 years to come, more Athletes under the Foundation will be self liberalized and be confident themselves to live a sporting livelihood together with their families.
The primary aim of the Ayawaso Physically Challenged sports Foundation is to create an enabling environment capable of providing comfort and confidence in the Athletes who are physically challenged and to see a future of livelihood through the power of Para Sports.
The legal definition of a charitable organization varies between countries and in some instances regions of the country.
The Ayawaso Physically Challenged Foundation is opened to any donations and gift.
